Scripture Memorization

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrew 4:12

6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

I believe God commands us to memorize scripture, which we need to improve on immensely! I think a good start is the 10 commandments. So I encourage you all to join us if you have not memorized it already.

Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.

Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

 Thou shalt not kill.

 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.

 Neither shalt thou steal.

Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Wisdom Search: Luke 6:43

For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Skill in reprehending others does not make a good man, but rather he that proves his uprightness both in word and deed.

Mathew Henry-
6:37-49 All these sayings Christ often used; it was easy to apply them. We ought to be very careful when we blame others; for we need allowance ourselves. If we are of a giving and a forgiving spirit, we shall ourselves reap the benefit. Though full and exact returns are made in another world, not in this world, yet Providence does what should encourage us in doing good. Those who follow the multitude to do evil, follow in the broad way that leads to destruction. The tree is known by its fruits; may the word of Christ be so grafted in our hearts, that we may be fruitful in every good word and work. And what the mouth commonly speaks, generally agrees with what is most in the heart. Those only make sure work for their souls and eternity, and take the course that will profit in a trying time, who think, speak, and act according to the words of Christ. Those who take pains in religion, found their hope upon Christ, who is the Rock of Ages, and other foundation can no man lay. In death and judgment they are safe, being kept by the power of Christ through faith unto salvation, and they shall never perish.

Birth Control kills

Such an important issue, so many of our fellow christians fail to do there research on this issue and the church is staying out of it. I always think of this verse when the pill is mentioned to me:

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit Matthew 7:18

So I urge you in this and in other matters as well to do your research to seek out yourself and not take someone elses word for it.

200 Million Dead Babies since 1960?

Today's program “celebrates” the 50th anniversary of the Pill, developed and tested by Doctors Gregory Pincus and John Rock and released to the public in 1960. Funding was initially provided by Margaret Sanger via her friend, Kathryn McCormick. The initial funding of $40,000 turned into a total bequest of $2,000,000. We encourage everybody who has ever used the pill to send a thank you card to Planned Parenthood, and acknowledge the commitment of the organization's founder.

Importantly, the abortifacient capacity of the pill was largely ignored until Christian author, Randy Alcorn and several others began to publicize it in the early 1990s. But then again, society didn't really care. After all, we are too much propelled by the existentialist, me-centered world to care about what happens to some stupid cell! To think of how many Christians have wittingly or unwittingly killed millions of their children since 1960 is jarring, to say the least.

About 1/4 of women on the pill still ovulate, but pregnancies are as low as 3-4%. Given that 30% of American women 18-45 years of age are on the pill (http://www.cbs.nl/en-GB/menu/themas/bevolking/publicaties/artikelen/archief/2009/2009-2725-wm.htm), about 6% of American women are having pill-induced abortions in any given year (and it may be as many as 12 abortions)! I would estimate that this would be anywhere from 3- 10 million extra abortions per year!

The true number of aborted children since 1960 or 1973 in this country is far more than 50 million. It may be closer to 200 million if you include those killed by the pill, the day-after pill, and RU486. How much of the birth rate drop from 4.0 (in 1950) to 2.0 presently is made up of dead, aborted babies?

A lot of doctors, pastors, and people with a little basic knowledge concerning the functioning of the pill could have warned their people about it. But somehow, our Christian society didn't really care. After all, “It was just one stupid cell. And, I have MY life, MY quality of life, and MY health to think about here.” BTW, ungodly herbologists and witches have always been well aware of the sorts of plants that induce abortions. There truly is nothing new under the sun. . . just a whole lot more naive Christians, I guess.

May God have mercy on us.

American Idol, StayTeen.org and Planned Parenthood: Promoting Sex, Abortion

Great Article from American Vision

Sometimes free isn't free ,you pay a higher cost in the end.

Here is an Excerpt from American Visions Killing the Soul of A Nation:

In Matthew 10:28 Jesus warned His disciples: “Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” He was warning them about Satan and temptations—nothing else could destroy the soul of a man but the temptation to disobey God. And the temptations Jesus Himself went through in Matthew 4:1-10 had one common theme: Get something for nothing. Make bread out of stones. Have safety without precaution. Get power without obedience. So easy, so attractive. You shall become gods. You shall become invincible and immortal by just eating this little fruit.

“Get something for nothing” is the greatest soul-killer in history. And Jesus warned against it by His own example.

Wisdom Search

We would like to do as often as we can a "wisdom search",Inspired by Bill Gothard. To find a passage in the bible and elaborate more on it. I know it helps us when we search references to help us better understand the passage. One of many we like to use is the Mathew Henry Commentary. If anyone else has a reference they would like to share we are open to it.

So our Wisdom Search of the Day is Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. This passage came to mind from certain events that happened during the week. It gave me great encouragement to press on.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

6:6-11 Many excuse themselves from the work of religion, though they may make a show, and profess it. They may impose upon others, yet they deceive themselves if they think to impose upon God, who knows their hearts as well as actions; and as he cannot be deceived, so he will not be mocked. Our present time is seed time; in the other world we shall reap as we sow now. As there are two sorts of sowing, one to the flesh, and the other to the Spirit, so will the reckoning be hereafter. Those who live a carnal, sensual life, must expect no other fruit from such a course than misery and ruin. But those who, under the guidance and influences of the Holy Spirit, live a life of faith in Christ, and abound in Christian graces, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. We are all very apt to tire in duty, particularly in doing good. This we should carefully watch and guard against. Only to perseverance in well-doing is the reward promised. Here is an exhortation to all to do good in their places. We should take care to do good in our life-time, and make this the business of our lives. Especially when fresh occasions offer, and as far as our power reaches.
